UPS management is violating our contract and our rights.

Now members are getting together to do something about it. Join us for the Local 804 Members United Education Conference on Sunday, April 5 at the VFW Long Island City, 31-35 41st St, between Broadway and 31st Ave.

Workshops

  • Working Safe, Working Smart: How can package car drivers protect themselves-and other members-from production harassment, OJS’s and improper discipline?
  • Enforcing Our Contract Inside the Hub: Management is walking all over our contract-from supervisors working to eliminating full-time combo jobs required by the contract. It doesn’t have to be this way. Share strategies for enforcing our contract.
  • Rebuilding Union Power in Local 804 in 2009: Contract concessions. Weak enforcement. Our pensions and healthcare under attack. Local 804 is moving in the wrong direction. What will it take to restore the power to our union-and how can members be a part of it?

Additional breakout meetings will be held for feeder drivers and Local 804 retirees.

Workshops will be led by Local 804 stewards and members.

Guest speakers will include:

  • Dan Campbell, former UPS business agent and National Negotiating Committee member.
  • Willie Hardy, International Union staff under Ron Carey and current TDU Organizer.
  • Dan Carey, son of Ron Carey.
