See the Health Fund Financial Reports for Yourself

Our Local 804 Executive Board never reported to the membership that our Health Fund had lost nearly $18 million or that millions of dollars had been diverted from the Health Fund to the Pension Fund.

Local 804 Members United uncovered this information by reviewing the Fund’s own financial data as reported to the Department of Labor each year in a Form 5500 report.

Now Local 804 Members United is making these reports available to the membership. You don’t have to take our word for it when we cite financial data. You can review the Fund’s own reports for yourself.

The main Financial Information is reported in Schedule H of the Form 5500. Below you can download the Schedule H Financial Information for the fiscal years 2003 through 2006.

The Form 5500 for 2007-2008 is not due until September of this year. The Fund can file for an extension and delay submission until March of next year.

The last line of the “Net Assets” section shows what the Fund’s net assets were at the beginning of the fiscal year and at the end. Schedule H includes other useful information about Fund income, and expenses.

The Fund’s fiscal year runs from June 1 to May 31. (For example, the 2003 Fiscal Year runs from June 1, 2003 to May 31, 2004)

Local 804 charges members for a copy of a Form 5500 report. Local 804 Members United is making these reports available to the membership at no charge. This Fund belongs to the members. These are our benefits at stake. And the membership has a right to this information.

For the record: After we uncovered the fact that contributions to the Fund had dropped in 2005-2006, we contacted the hall. Secretary-Treasurer and Fund Trustee Tony Magrene confirmed that contributions to the Health Fund had been diverted to the Pension Fund and provided the contribution figures. Brother Magrene returned multiple phone calls and provided the information we requested.
