ABOUT US

This website is independent of Local 804 and the International Brotherhood of Teamsters.

Local 804 Members United is a network of Local 804 members working together to defend our contracts and benefits and enforce our rights at UPS and wherever Local 804 members work.

We are proud Teamsters and especially proud of Local 804. We believe in the brand of Teamster Power brought to Local 804 by Ron Carey—that union power comes from an informed and mobilized membership.

We believe in united action for a stronger union and we practice what we preach.

In 2007, we formed the Local 804 Make UPS Deliver Network to oppose the concessionary contracts negotiated by our negotiators at the International Union and at our local. We issued leaflets, held meetings and united members to vote down a weak contract offer.

We did not win the contract we deserve. But by standing up to UPS when our Executive Board would not, we beat several concessions, including the elimination of 25 & Out pensions for new employees.

In January 2008, we launched a campaign to reform our Local 804 bylaws so that members would never again be kept in the dark about our contract negotiations or what is happening with our benefit funds. Nearly 2,000 members signed petitions in support of these reforms.  On April 20, 2008 members voted to overwhelmingly approve both of these changes.

The Local 804 Members United website is part of our ongoing efforts to build a stronger Local 804 by informing and uniting the membership.
